Pakistan Cricket Board patron-in-chief Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan nominating Ramiz Raja as member of Governing Board of PCB along with one more official ( likely Ex-Chairman Ehsan Mani) who has completed his three years tenure on Wednesday. The constitution of PCB now shifted all powers of Chairman to Waseem Khan CEO of PCB for day to day affairs.
Sources from the PCB on the condition of anonymity confirmed the ” Current Line” that the Ehsan Mani is no longer to serve as Chairman PCB for the second term and in couple of days the letter of nominations from the PM who is the patron-in-chief of PCB will receive PCB and than formally BoG meeting called upon as per procedure to elect the Chairman of PCB, ” He will not be continuing and nor will contest for the Chairman PCB run in the month of September.”
Ehsan Mani was elected as Chairman PCB back in September 2018 by the BoG for the term of three years as per the procedure after the two nominations from PM Imran Khan, the second was Asad Ali Khan who is associated with Multan Sultan’s and in original with Tareen Group (PTI pressure Group) and in the presence tensed relations between PM Imran Khan and Jhangir Khan Tareen, will no longer have any hope for his second term nomination.
Boar of Governors Meeting
Pakistan Cricket Board stated in a press release that Election Commissioner of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Mr Justice (retd) Sheikh Azmat Saeed has called a special meeting of the Board of Governors on Monday, 13 September, at 1100 in Lahore to elect the 36th PCB Chairman.
The Election Commissioner made the decision in his first meeting at the Gaddafi Stadium on Friday afternoon, in which he also directed that notices of the special meeting be issued to the BoG members. Such notices have been issued.
Earlier on Friday (August 27, 2021) morning, PCB Patron, Prime Minister Mr Imran Khan, had nominated Mr Asad Ali Khan and Mr Ramiz Raja on the BoG for a three-year term while exercising his powers under clause 12(1) of the PCB Constitution.
The other five members on the BoG are Mr Aasim Wajid Jawad, Ms Alia Zafar, Mr Arif Saeed and Mr Javed Kurieshi (all independent members) and Mr Wasim Khan (PCB Chief Executive).

Ex Chairman Ehsan Mani was famous for his cricket administrations and served as President of International Cricket Council and his positive efforts helped Pakistan in restoration of International Cricket in Pakistan. He also got approved new Constitution of PCB which was previously formed by his predecessor Najam Sethi and the new domestic structure of Pakistan Cricket ( Regional Cricket into six Provincial Associations) as per vision of Prime minister of Pakistan Imran Khan.
The duo of Ehsan Mani ( Ex Chairman ) and Waseem Khan (CEO) also submitted Expression of interest to ICC for the hosting of six international events during 2024-2031 ICC Future Tour Program.

Pakistan Cricket team ex Captain Ramiz Raja is very close to his world champion captain prime minister of Pakistan Imran Khan and was also served in PCB on different positions in the past. He has strong footing in the administration of PCB with his close mates serving in PCB on key posts from last two decades.
