Pakistan Cricket team captain Qasim Akram in pre tournament presser hoped to win the title this time in West Indies like his predecessors in the past. Pakistan Cricket team who lost the semi final against Sri Lanka in U19 Asia Cup 2022 in Dubai earlier this month is one of the strong contestant for the ICC U19CWC2022 title.
Qasim Akram who want to repeat the history for his country third time as Junior Champions is very confident on his team mates individual performances and discussed one by one by name in the presser.
“Muhammad Shahzad and others in the top order including me is the strength of our batting, similarly in the bowling and late order Ahmad khan is the real strength of Pakistan cricket team and all these are enough for me to get good performance from Pakistan team in this tournament.” Qasim Answered questions.
We are adjusted in West Indies conditions now and warm up game against Canada gave us good practice, so we are fully ready to take on Afghanistan and other opponents in the tournament.
Pakistan captain has good learning from India Cricket team who has ability to bat 50 overs with top orders and said that India team start slowly and than got the pace later on and this is good technique for us to set good totals and for this purpose we will follow plans given to us by our coaches.
Qasim Akram is idealising Babar Azam as his role model and wished to perform like him.
“I played cricket with Babar Azam and will try to lead the team like him in this tournament because he is my ideal as captain and player”.
