The First T20 of home series of Bangladesh brought bad news for the host team, Pakistan win the match by four wickets with finish in style from Pakistan Middle order four balls before end of the game.
Bangladesh who won the toss and choose to bat first to set a defendable total but Pakistan pace attack performed well in the power play in the absence of Shaheen Afridi. Hassan Ali who was off color in the T20 World Cup and was top target of critics after dropping catch in the Semi Final of T20 World Cup 2021 against Australia strike well on his first delivery after the world cup when he trapped Muhammad Naim on wide side of the wicket in the hands of Wicket Keeper Muhammad Rizwan.
Saif Hassan who was struggling hard from first two overs of the inning and Waseem who was looking for seems moment in his first two overs, he got that on the last ball of his second and innings third over, and Fakhar Zaman who was ready at the first slip to catch Saif and Bangladesh lost second wicket on the total of 10.Waseem again in his next over caught and bowled Najmul Hassan Shanto, the innings total was 15/3.
Bangladesh fourth wicket partnership was quite well but after adding 25 runs Nawaz in absolute mood and bowled Mahmud Ullah which was re examined by the third umpire on the total of 40/4. Shadab Khan dismissed well settled Afif Hossain 36 on his googly which will well picked and stumped by Rizwan, Bangladesh was 61/5.
Mehdi and Nurul Hassan fought well in the middle overs and for fifth wicket partnership, they added 35 runs when Hassan Ali attacked with bit of wider and fuller ball in the safe gloves of Rizwan on the total of 96/6 and than in the innings 19th and Hassan Ali’s fourth ball of final and 4th over clean bowled Aminul Islam (2) on inning total 110/7. Bangladesh added 17 more runs on last eight balls and inning ended on 127/7.
Pakistan start inning with top opener of the World T20 Rizwan and Captain Babar Azam and lost early wicket in third over when Mustafizur Rahman clean bowled Muhammad Rizwan (11 on 11) on the innings total 16/1.
In very next over Captain Babar Azam joined his partner in the pavilion after clean bowled with inside edge on to the stumps by Taskin Ahmad on the innings total 22/2.
Mehdi Hassan (30) who batted well with two huge sixes got the ball to bowl innings 5th over and Haider Ali who failed to face also did not succeeded in the review as it was pitched inline, Pakistan 23/3. Pakistan was looking fully under pressure like Australia, New Zealand and West Indies in the previous series as most experienced man in the cricket world Shoaib Malik gets run out by the keeper in the most comically schoolboyish manner 24/4.
Fakhar Zaman and Khushdil shah was already consolidated 56 runs 5th wicket partnership to stamped on the victory against Bangladesh, when Taskin Ahmad trapped Fakhar Zaman on wider delivery in the Wicket keeper Nurul Hasan Gloves 80/5 in 15th over.
Bangladesh Players was jubilant on the wicket of Khushdil Shah (34) who was outside edged in the safe gloves of Nurul Islam in 17th over, bowler was Shoriful Islam and the total was 96/6.
Muhammad Nawaz joined Shadab and Shoriful Islam welcomed him with a bouncer after this Bangladesh Captain called his best bowler Mustafizur Rehman for his final over of the spell (3-0-11-1) but Shadab was in a different mood who smashed first ball through extra cover for four runs and than with one dot ball hit bang bang sixer, Shadab got single on next ball and gave strike to Nawaz who faced Mustafizur with one dot ball and four runs.
After getting 15 runs in 18th over both Nawaz and Shadab looking confident to face Shoriful, Shadab got easy single and gave chance for Nawaz to use his power who missed a ball but next one hit was a beautiful sixer on long-on than double run on extra cover and again he sealed the match (126/6) with one more pull over to the deep midwicket sixer and finished the over with 15 runs.
In the Final Over, there were nothing for Aminul Islam to save the match as only two runs required and Shadab faced first delivery as dot ball and on the next slog-sweeps over midwicket for six runs, Pakistan 132/6 won the match by four wickets with four balls to spare.
Captain Mahmudullah thought wicket was good for batting and that’s why he decided to bat first after winning the toss but it was bit difficult and also helpful for bowlers but we will come back
Pakistan Captain Babar Azam praised his middle orders and thought Bangladesh scored almost 20 runs extra to his expectations.
Man of the match Hassan Ali thanked to all fans and look obliged after off color in ICC T20WC2021 performances as he is experienced in Bangladesh premier league and bowled accordingly.
