Mathew Hayden appointed new head coach of Pakistan Cricket team from World T20, Pakistan India Show Stoppers but no diplomacy

Newly elected chairman PCB Ramiz Raja announced first big news after taking charge as institutional head and appointed Australian Test Cricketer Mathew Hayden as Head Coach of Pakistan Cricket team for the ICC WT20 2021.

Chairman’s second second order was an appointment of south African Vernon Philandar as bowling coach of National Cricket team. Chairman PCB also disclosed that soon he will appoint local coach with these two foreign coaches for better coordination of players and staff.

Ramiz Raja on the question on bilateral relations with India said “we are not in hurry to play cricket with India it was halted because of political situation”.

Chairman showed his disappointment on unavailability of DRS in the Pakistan and New Zealand series and confirmed he will look after this matter in details with the concerned officials in due course.

Pakistan and New Zealand series of three ODI matches status has been changed from ICC Championship to Bilateral series with mutual understanding of both the cricket boards because of unavailability of DRS which is compulsory according to ICC playing conditions.

Ramiz Raja said “the two foreign coaches for short time and PCB will plan long term Plan after ICC WT20 2021”.

Ramiz Raja, who was the key opener of Pakistan World Champion team of 1992, showed his concerns for the Cricketers welfare, drop in pitches and Club Cricket.

Chairman PCB announced one hundred thousand Rupees increment in the retainer ship amount for the Cricketers who are already on PCB Panel list.

Newly elected chairman concerned about the mental growth of the juniors especially under 19 and junior teams and for that purpose under 19 championship announced and soon PCB will add into the annual calendar. Ramiz Raja also want to do case studies and theoretical on the basis of statistical analysis, “PCB will do case studies and for juniors in future will make up their minds to be analytical” Ramiz Said.

Ramiz Hassan Raja want to increase the women Cricket players pool from 35 to 135 and for this purpose he instruct Waseem Khan the CEO Pakistan Cricket Board to do efforts in near future.

Mr Ramiz Raja is Pakistan’s 18th Test and 12th ODI captain, and played 255 international matches in which he scored 8,674 runs in the period from 1984 to 1997. He has previously served the PCB as its Chief Executive from 2003-2004, has represented Pakistan on the ICC Chief Executives’ Committee and presently sits on the MCC World Cricket Committee. He has been a successful broadcaster with world’s leading cricket networks and widely regarded as the voice of Pakistan cricket.

Mr Ramiz Raja is only the fourth former Pakistan international cricketer to head the PCB after Mr Abdul Hafeez Kardar (1972-1977), Mr Javed Burki (1994-1995) and Mr Ijaz Butt (2008-2011).
